  HeliosPaint 1.5 on Microsoft Windows 



System Requirements

Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, XP, Vista or Windows 7.

Desktop, laptop or touchscreen PC.

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 5.0 or greater.
If you have a 64 bit Windows computer, please install the 64 bit version of Java for Windows.

If Java is not installed on your computer, the Java download website will open in your browser when you try to run HeliosPaint.exe


Running HeliosPaint on Windows

  1. Download and run the HeliosPaint.exe installer and follow the setup wizard. The installer includes a third-party software offer. Untick the offer if it doesn't interest you.

If you also need Java (JRE) for Microsoft Windows, please click here.

If for some strange reason HeliosPaint.exe does not run on your Windows computer, you can download and run HeliosPaint.jar instead. You should install Java (JRE) for Microsoft Windows first.



  HeliosPaint 1.5 on Apple Mac OS X 



System Requirements

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 5.0 or greater.
(Note: Mac OS X comes with this pre-installed).


Running HeliosPaint on Max OS X

  1. Download and save HeliosPaint_MacOS.zip onto your computer.
  2. Unzip HeliosPaint_MacOS.zip.
  3. Double click on the HeliosPaint.jar file to launch HeliosPaint.
HeliosPaint can also be launched manually on Mac OS X as follows:
  1. Open a terminal window (e.g. via your Applications folder).
  2. Use "cd" commands to go to the folder containing the HeliosPaint.jar file.
  3. Launch HeliosPaint by entering the command
    "java -jar HeliosPaint.jar".


  HeliosPaint 1.5 on Linux or Unix 



System Requirements

To run HeliosPaint on a Linux or Unix computer, you will need the following installed:
Running HeliosPaint on Linux/Unix

  1. Download and save HeliosPaint.jar onto your computer.
  2. Attempt to right-click on the HeliosPaint.jar file screen icon and select "Open with Sun Java Runtime" (this will be platform dependent).
HeliosPaint can also be launched manually as follows:
  1. Open a terminal window.
  2. Use "cd" commands to go to the folder containing the HeliosPaint.jar file.
  3. Launch HeliosPaint by entering the command
    "java -jar HeliosPaint.jar"
    or
    "./java -jar HeliosPaint.jar"
    granting execute permissions first if needed using command
    "sudo chmod 775 HeliosPaint.jar".
